Skagway

Skagway was also awesome! Again cute little town, lots of shops, saloons, and the best thing—the White Pass and Yukon Route. We bought tickets for this in advance and we’ve heard great things about it, but I never imagined it would be as cool as it was.
Here is the description from the website “The WP&YR climbs nearly 3000 feet in just 20 miles and features steep grades of up to 3.9%, cliff-hanging turns of 16 degrees, two tunnels and numerous bridges and trestles. See the steel cantilever bridge which was the tallest of its kind in the world when it was constructed in 1901.”
The whole ride was three hours long and takes you all the way up into Canada. I knew that it went up a mountain but I had no idea just how high it could go! The coolest thing is that each car has a balcony in the front and back, and about 10 minutes into the trip, they let you go out there and take pics. And you can stay for the duration of the ride! It was slightly terrifying but so cool. Me and Kenny stayed out there for a bit and got some pretty cool shots. Frankie and Maria took naps. Hey, that’s what vacation is all about, relaxing! It was an expensive nap though. But in addition to the pretty greenery and mountains we saw, we saw another bear and some mountain goats.
After, we hit the hot tub, took naps and showers and went to dinner and then hit the nightclub. Frankie let loose and joined in on Vodka shots and even danced with Maria for a bit! I was impressed at what vacation can do to a person.
The next morning we needed to be up bright and early for the journey through Tracy Arm Fjord, which I’ve heard is amazing!
