Macys

Is it just me, or is Macy's the most frustrating place on earth!? Long ago my main issue with Macy's stemmed from the fact that the really awesome coupons they always sent out had a million and one exclusions and you really couldn't use them. Over the past two years that has no longer been an issue since my mom now knows an employee and we get the friends & family discount--and it rocks! The 20% off is really good on almost everything including my favorite Tommy Hilfiger jeans. But there's always something with that store. Like tonight when I waited patiently on the jewelry line. When it was finally my turn, the sales woman insisted that the woman in back of me was there first. Seriously? Where was she when the 2 people in front of me went? Oh that's right...she was anywhere but on the line! I should have argued, but I didn't have it in me and instead I very nicely said that I was there first, but it really wasn't worth the argument. I was rewarded with a pair of earrings that rang up for less than they should have been--even before my coupon. Take that bitch...

As a long time Macy's sales associate, I hesitate to say one person was there before another unless I am POSITIVE they actually were. If I am uncertain, I will ask "who was here first" and MOST but not all of the time one person will say "I was" and the others will say "yes she was". I try to keep track of who is where but it not always possible on a busy day.

Sometimes people step out of line for a few seconds to check out something close by and then get back in line behind the last person. That could possibly be what happened in your case.

Regardless, it is rude of you to call her "b_tch". If she was treating you unfairly, you lowered yourself down to her level by your comment.

Trust me this woman was not there before me as I had walked around the whole counter, got on line and had 2 people in front of me. She knew I was there first and she was rude. And no, I didn't lower myself. I referred to her as a bitch here out of frustration, I never said I called her one. Like I said, I let it go, I wasn't in the mood to argue. Trust me, if it had happened to someone who is not as nice as I am, it would have been a very unpleasant scene.
