And They Said It Wouldn't Last

Today is mine and Frankie's 4-year anniversary. How crazy is that? I never thought I would ever get married and here we are 4 years later. Trisha just sent me an email with a recap from our wedding. It was hysterical. I can't believe how much detail she remembered!

Frankie and I decided not to do presents this year because we are trying to save money, plus we are going to Vegas this weekend (we booked this before we put ourselves on a strict budget). But he broke the rules. He got me a present. Nothing crazy, but something I wanted when we were in Disney World last month. He's a sweetie, I guess that's why I married him!

Rock and Roll Grandma

So I spent yesterday doing something I never thought I would do. I set up my grandparent's new Ipod. Yes, that's right, Grandma and Poppi have an Ipod Shuffle. And what's even scarier is that some of the songs that I put on there I have on my own Ipod. I expect to be getting many phones calls over the next couple of days when they can't figure out how to use it. Should be somewhat amusing.

Let's Go Rangers!

Hockey season is back, and it's better than ever! The Rangers are kickin ass!!!

Finally one of my teams is doing something to make me proud.

Being a Mets fan and a Minnesota Vikings fan, my sports luck hasn't had many highs in the past few years.

Let's hope this keeps up...

Shopping

I just came back from Toys R Us trying to buy my nephew his birthday present. Of course they didn't have what I wanted. After I left, I stopped at the Gap and walked out of there with 6 shirts. But still no present for my darling little nephew.

Why is it that every time I go shopping with something specific in mind, I never come home with that thing, but rather several other things that I really don't need?

I really need to learn to focus.

This Old House

So after many weekends of painting, Frankie finally got the exterior of the house painted. It looks beautiful. There's still a few more things that need to be done, but I am so proud of him. I think he did an amazing job. We don't own the house (we rent it from my uncle) but we're hoping someday that it will be ours.

This weekend was hectic. Saturday afternoon was spent at Frankie's Aunt's 65th birthday party in Brooklyn. After that we ran over to Kelly and Joey's new house to help them move in. They did so much for us when me moved into our place and we felt horrible not being able to return the favor. But since we couldn't miss his aunt's party, we figured helping at night was better than nothing. Of course, there wasn't much to do by then. They were very understanding about it and I think they were just happy that we stopped by so they could show off the new digs. The house is super big and really beautiful. I'm happy for them.

I spent most of the day today in funeral homes. The first wake was this afternoon for Steve's Grandfather in Brooklyn. Frankie worked most of the day today detailing cars, so he didn't make that one. I went with Jenn and Lauren. I was so glad I didn't have to go by myself. After that I picked Frankie up and we headed to the second wake of the day. A friend of the family's brother. Then we stopped with my parents to grab something to eat. Now I'm exhausted and need to get ready for work tomorrow.

Splish Splash

I know I live on an island, but this morning I felt like I was stranded on an island. There I was walking to work, umbrella in hand and ready to go. Yeah, the rain was pouring but it wasn't too bad. Then I got to the corner of my block. I was stranded. Water all around me. And I'm not talking about puddles, I’m talking about mini rivers.
So I did what I had to do. I looked for the shallow part and went for it. The water was past my ankles, but there was nothing I could do. So I continued walking to the bus stop while my shoes squished. Then I attempted to cross Hylan Blvd. There weren't any big puddles in site so I thought I was safe. Wrong. I played what seemed to be a game of Frogger and made it half way and stopped on the divider. All I wanted was the bus stop shelter at this point. As I stood on the divider waiting to cross the last part of the street, a truck came. A very large truck. Even though there weren't any big puddles, the bastard soaked the back of me. It wasn't pretty.

I finally made it to the bus stop and the bus came within minutes, which was nice. Then I got off the bus in the city and my umbrella broke.

I guess it's true when they say when it rains it pours.

Columbus Rocks!

My company was one of the few places that was closed for Columbus Day. It was so nice. I didn't have that guilty feeling that I do when I take a sick or a personal day. Don't ask why I get a guilty feeling for taking sick or personal days- I'm nuts, I know. So basically yesterday I sat around and did nothing. Did some scrapbooking which was fun! I started my weekend with a movie with the girls Friday night. We saw In Her Shoes. It was so good! Total chick flick. I laughed, I cried, I give it 2 thumbs up (I didn't really cry). I read the book a year or so ago, and the movie was exactly the same. I recommend seeing it ladies.

Saturday was the Crohn's walk which was fun despite getting soaked. We didn't stay too long, just a few laps around Washington Square Park, but it was nice. It's a good time to just BS with the girls. After, Timmy made us all breakfast to say thank you. I was very impressed at his cooking skills. Trisha and Timmy broke out the waffle maker that they got for their wedding. How many people actually use those things? I know mine is still sitting in the box (then again so is most of my cooking stuff since I don't cook...hehe).
At night Frankie and I just hung out, which is good because the next few weekends I have so much coming up, including Vegas baby! Can't wait. We're leaving the 29th and we're staying at the Bellagio. I can't believe we booked the Bellagio. What do we think we're the Rockefeller’s? No wonder why we can't afford a house. But in all honesty it was only $100 more than MGM so we figured why not? Should be fun.

Ok, enough, off to the gym....

Home Sweet Home

Back from Disney!

Had a great time, it was very hot and very crowded, but we survived. We had a beautiful 3-bedroom townhouse at the Old Key West Resort. It fit the 11 of us with plenty of room to spare. We had 4 bathrooms which was so helpful! The kids were so good it was amazing. They were so well behaved and never really asked for a thing. I hope when I have kids they are that good (doubtful). Coming home we hit some of the tropical storm that's moving up the coast, so the flight was really bumpy. I didn't handle it well. Thank God Grace was asleep for most of the flight because I was so frozen from being scared of the turbulence, that I wouldn't have been able to do anything for her if I had to. She was an angel.

I'm just putting up pics from the trip on Ofoto, but here are some for now.
