Hooray!

Shannon Fiona was born at 6:59 this morning. She's is 7lbs. 9oz., 20in. long, and I heard she has a little light peach fuzz rather than a full head of black hair (that surprised us all). I spoke to both Kelly and Joey at around 8 am this morning and Kelly sounded so good which made me happy. Now I have to patiently sit at work all day until I can go see them tonight.
Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock...

Almost Here!

Today at 4:45 my phone rang at the office, I didn't answer since I was about to head out to the DK softball game. Immediately after, my cell rang and I saw it was Kelly's home number so of course I answered. And then it dawned on me, she must be in labor! Sure enough she was on her way to the hospital because they were inducing her. The weird part? I told Frankie last night that the baby would be born on her due date. Her due date is tomorrow...so there's a good chance I was right (call me Miss Cleo and give me a hotline!). I was told by the mommy to be to not come to the hospital yet as it was too early and she didn't want me to sit around twiddling my thumbs. So I listened, and now I sit by the phone eagerly awaiting a call. I'm excited. And I'm nervous--I'm sure it will all be fine, but Kelly is more than my best friend of 20+ years, she's practically my sister and its just a natural reaction. So here's to waiting for what hopefully won't be too long. And most likely tomorrow, I will go see my new beautiful niece who I'm sure will have a full head of black hair like her daddy.

Grrrrrrr

I am angry and hostile today and its not even 11am. People are morons and its irritating.

Things that might help me calm down:
Deep breaths? Doubtful.
Taking a walk? Nope
Finding a new job? DING DING DING! We have a winner!

Why I Love My Friends

After many attempts to snag tickets to a concert Jon Bon Jovi was having for a book event, I finally got them. Obviously, I was excited. Soon after, I found out he had to cancel the show. A press release was issued soon after and this is what it read:

Bon Jovi Cancels
The Bon Jovi book BELIEVE has been postponed, and Jon Bon Jovi has cancelled his planned Saturday night benefit concert at BEA. Show officials made the announcement "with enormous regret and deepest apologies to all BEA attendees." Refunds will be processed automatically for those who already purchased tickets.

Soon after reading that, I received an email from my friend Gina saying that this is what it should have read:
Bon Jovi Cancels
The Bon Jovi book BELIEVE has been postponed, and Jon Bon Jovi has cancelled his planned Saturday night benefit concert at BEA. According to Mr. Bon Jovi's publicist, he was "distraught over the fact his #1 fan, Jaimie of Staten Island, could not get a ticket to the show." Show officials made the announcement "with enormous regret and deepest apologies to Jaimie." Refunds will be processed automatically for those who already purchased tickets. And a huge bouquet of roses was expected to arrive to Jaimie later today from Bon Jovi himself.

Silly Gina...

Coffee Guy's Life Lesson #62

After being away and coming back to work completely exhausted, I looked forward to my usual daily cup of coffee from the coffee guy outside my building. Yet again, I got a splash of wisdom with my coffee...
"Sometimes we lose things on the weekend. We may gamble and lose money or drink and party too much and lose a piece of our soul. We think what we do on the weekends is relaxing, but it often makes us more tired."
OK, seriously WTF? Is this guy Jesus or something? It's like he knows everything I do...
