Princesses and Snowcones

Weekend was delightful! Friday was Culture Club with Cristina and some friends- had a great time.

Saturday my niece finally got to cash in her Christmas present from me and Frankie. We took her to see Princesses on Ice. It was adorable and included all the Disney Princesses we know and love. But my favorite princess by far was Grace. The look on her face as they began each story was just priceless. She just sat there quietly and observed everything taking it all in bit by bit. She was just too sweet for words! I was surprised that she was able to sit still after eating cotton candy, popcorn, a hot dog, soda and a snowcone. I know, I know it was too much. But hey, after all isn't spoiling mandatory when your an aunt?

I Don't Want to Work

I just want to bang on the drum all day...hehe

This week rocks! All the big shots are in the UK office which as left us all totally meeting-free. It has been a delight! I haven't really got much done, but it's been so nice not sitting in conference rooms all day. I took a new position over here at DK a few weeks ago, and it has been crazy. I'm happy to be busy and I love the new work, it's just that I feel nothing has been getting done due to the meetings we've been having about upcoming meetings- I kid you not.

Cristina and I also got the chance to meet up with Katie and Jessica last night to catch up. We headed over to Swift for drinks and had great time. Both the girls look so great and it was so nice to see them.

Tonight I'm headed out to Newark Airport to pick up the folks who are coming back from Florida. I hope they got me a Chicken Little present!!! (Yes, I am worse than a 5-year old)

All Hail the Messiah

Well tonight is the night. Mark Messier's famous number 11 jersey will be retired in front of thousands of fans at the Garden. A press conference was held last night and Messier was quite choked up, and so was I. I'm sure tonight will be even sadder. After 25 years, 694 goals and 1,193 assists he'll always be a legend.

Do Blondes Really Have More Fun?

I hope so because I'm sorta one of them now. When I first got highlights (November 2004) I was so afraid that I only let her put a few streaks in my hair. As time went on I got braver and let her do a little more each time. So when I went to Tara's tonight to let her do my highlights I told her I trust her and to do whatever. I should have known better. Tara is a mid-30's tacky blonde housewife with 2 kids that does hair in her house on the side, and she thinks everybody should be blonde. Since the day we met she has been trying to get my hair as light as she can, and I usually resist, but tonight she won. Don't get me wrong I'm not like Pam Anderson blonde or anything, but for me it's a little dramatic. I'm sure I'll get used to it in a few days, but for now I can't stop thinking about it.

Pleasant Surprise

I had such a nice surprise on the bus ride in this morning, my cousin Mike from Chicago was on the same bus! He's in town for a trade show for his COEXIST business, and even though he's staying with his parents who live right next door to me, I haven't seen him. It was a good start to a Monday.

Sing Us a Song Piano Man

Met up with some friends last night for Lori's birthday. We went to Marie's Crisis, a tiny piano bar in the West Village. If you're into a little, packed, not very clean room full of gay men singing show tunes...well then this is the place for you! I must admit it was extremely funny. And if you do ever decide to go you must bring Frankie because the faces he made all night was even funnier then the whole experience itself. It was priceless.
After that we headed over to see Cristina at Off the Wagon. Can you say fire hazard? Now I know I'm getting old and I'm not 21 anymore, but how anybody could stay in this place was beyond me. Packed. I mean people were like sardines. And everybody seemed to have a pitcher of beer in their hand and they had to hold them up in the air to let people walk by without knocking into them as they passed. So everytime you walked by someone you could feel a little beer trickle down on your head. And it was about 100 degrees in there. The only thing that was good was that for once there was no line for the bathroom in there. Maybe if I was drunk it would have been a little easier to handle, but I doubt it. I think I'm getting too old for this kind of stuff...so sad.

Hello 2006

Well another a year has come and gone. Another year older and none the wiser. 2005 was a great year. It was filled with good friends (some old some new) and great memories, and 2006 looks even better! I get to look forward to the wedding of my good friend Silvia, my friend Anthony's wedding and the wedding of my cousin Amy (wow I have alot of weddings to go to). I also get to look forward to the birth of two new cousins in the Springtime. And what I'm really looking forward to is the Christmas gift from my mom, dad, aunts and uncles. They are giving all the cousins (14 of us) a night out on the town together- dinner and the play of our choice. Unfortunately we don't get to see each other that much since we all live in different places now- New York, Chicago, New Jersey, Atlanta, but we always have fun when we're together. So I think we are all looking forward to this. I hope you all enjoyed your holidays as much as I did. Happy New Year!
