My Kind of Town

Just returned from a business trip in San Diego. This was my third visit to the area and this time we stayed in Mission Beach. Even though the flight is a dreaded six hours, I always forget how much I love San Diego until I get there. On Friday I was lucky enough to have a few hours free which left me lots of time to take a walk to the beach which was about a mile away. It was awesome, very picturesque and postcard like. Palm trees, surfers, big waves and good looking people all around. It was like a scene out of 90210, and even though I didn't fit in, I could totally picture myself living there one day. Its truly an awesome city.
We had lots of dinners and parties to attend while out there, including one that had karaoke...yes that's right, karaoke. And yes, I sang...not alone though, it was a group effort, quartet to be exact, which included my sister in law. We looked like fools but we had a great time!
And on the last day we decided to hit Worlds Best in Pacific Beach for breakfast. This place is amazing! Big breakfast (with champagne) and right on the beach. An awesome way to end the trip!
UPDATE: someone managed to capture the madness

The Good, The Bad, and The Bizarro

Good...
As much as I hate to travel for work, I'm going to Philly this weekend, which means no flying involved! And we're staying at the Westin--those who have been know the Heavenly Bed is to die for!

Bad...
I bought a super-cute pair of shoes two months ago but haven't had a chance to wear them yet. I went to put them on today and the box contained two left feet.

Bizarro...
I can't get the Hannah Montana "Best of Both Worlds" theme song out of my head. WTF?

Superstar!

Yay Rachel got a much deserved promotion to Associate Director of PR today! And its her birthday! Rock on K*mp-star!

A New Year

Happy new year all! Hope the holidays were good to everybody! I know despite some minor set backs, mine were fantastic! I had family over for Christmas Eve for our first Christmas in our new home (yes, I even did a little cooking), I relaxed a bit, caught up on some household stuff, and had a wonderful lunch with some of my oldest and dearest friends from grammar school.
2007 was a great year and something tells me '08 will be even better--I too prefer even numbers Rachel! I'm looking forward to making lots of new memories with friends.
New years resolution? I usually don't do them since they get broken way to early, but this year I decided that my resolution would be to enjoy life more. I want to stop worrying and focusing on things that I can't control and start living life! I spend way too much time dwelling on stupid things--and I'm done. So here's to good times in 2008!
