The Magic Garden

Had a great lunch today with a few of my favorite gals from the office. I don't know how it came up but somehow we started talking about The Magic Garden. Possibly the best, tripiest kids show ever! And what's even scarier is that we remembered so much more than we thought. The song lyrics came back to us like it was yesterday and it made us laugh like the chuckle patch. When I was young my mom took me to see the show and I remember buying the album and having it signed. Now I just need to dig through my old bedroom closet at my parents' house and find it. Hmm...I also need to find a record player.
Rock on Paula and Carole. How high do you think they were?

Appropriate for Thanksgiving

This cracks me up every year so I had to post it. Here's a list of things that are ok to say only on Thanksgiving! Enjoy!
01. Talk about a huge breast!
02. Tying the legs together keeps the inside moist.
03. It's Cool Whip time!
04. If I don't undo my pants, I'll burst!
05. That's one terrific spread!
06. I'm in the mood for a little dark meat.
07. Are you ready for seconds yet?
08. It's a little dry, do you still want to eat it?
09. Just wait your turn, you'll get some!
10. Don't play with your meat.
11. Just spread the legs open and stuff it in.
12. Do you think you'll be able to handle all these people at once?
13. I didn't expect everyone to come at once!
14. You still have a little bit on your chin.
15. How long will it take after you stick it in?
16. You'll know it's ready when it pops up.
17. Wow, I didn't think I could handle all of that!
18. That's the biggest one I've ever seen!

Cursed

For probably the last year or so I have bought my morning coffee from the same coffee cart on the corner by my building. I know some of you also have a "relationship" with your coffee guy and its a big commitment, so you'll understand. As faithful as I am to him, there are times when I cheat. When I woke up this morning I thought about stopping at Starbucks to get a gingerbread latte (yummy!). And then I thought about the consequences. What happens if the coffee guy sees me when I walk into the building? Will he notice the festive holiday Starbucks cup in my hand and say something tomorrow and make it weird when we exchange our morning pleasantries? I decided to go nuts, be a rebel and hit Starbucks. Almost $6 later I was on the way to the office and the coffee kept leaking on to my hand and spilling on to my clothes. It wasn't too messy, but I can't help but wonder if it was bad karma from cheating on him? So when I approached the building I prayed that he would have someone on line so he wouldn't see me, he did, and I quickly walked past him trying to push my hair to the side and hide my face as best I could. I guess we'll find out tomorrow if it worked, but something tells me that my puffy white jacket might have given me away.
On a happier note, I just got to talk to my niece to tell her I had a very special surprise for her. I told that this Saturday I was taking her to see Princesses on Ice--she sounded thrilled. She asked what day it was today and how long she would have to wait. I told her how many days and she said "ok, because I need to get some stuff ready". By stuff I have a feeling she means packing her princess pocket book and gathering a few necessities which I'm sure includes a light up toy of some sort. I then told her that Uncle Frankie would be coming too and she sounded relieved. When I asked why, she told me "because he's the one who brings us the food and stuff so we don't have to miss anything". That kid is one smart cookie.

Connecticut Here We Come

Heading off to CT tonight with the work peeps for sales conference. I have a whole bunch of titles to present and the thought of it is making me physically ill. I have never been comfortable with public speaking and I really can't wait until this whole nightmare is behind me.
Wish me luck!

A Princess is on the Way

As most of you know my best friend of 20+ years is having her first baby this April and I couldn't be more excited! She had a sonogram last night and the doctor is 99% positive it's a girl. I can't believe that in a few months my best friend will be the mom of a baby girl! I can't wait...

A Stolirific Time

Went out last night and partied it up with the DK crew for my birthday and I'm definitely feeling it today. No headache thank god, but I feel like somebody kicked my ass thanks to all the dancing in heels and Stoli Blueberry shots. What was I thinking? Apparently not much. But it was all worth it. We had a great time. There was lots of Bon Jovi played just for me and the DJ gave me a few big happy birthday shout outs...and although I hate attention, I was slightly amused.

Splitsville

Jenn and Brad, Jessica and Nick, Richie and Heather, Reese and Ryan...We all know I'm all about the celebrity gossip and those break-ups made me sad (well I was actually sort of glad about the Richie/Heather thing). But finally a good one!!! Britney and Kevin are done at last. I mean I know Britney is totally white trash but even she was too good for him. I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually felt bad for her. I know she did it to herself but I'm a sucker. Not sure if she had a prenup or not, I've heard both yes and no, but I hope he gets nothing except the leftover CD's that he can't sell.
Now if only Katie would leave Tom.

Jagshemash

Borat opened last night! Everybody from work planned on going to see it together but to our surprise it wasn't playing at any of the theaters near work...so we're left to see it separately in our respective boroughs. I will most definitely be seeing it tonight though. I'm so excited, I have waited too long for this. I can't tell you how many late nights I have spent watching episodes of Ali G with my brother and when we heard word of a Borat movie we were more than thrilled. Rachel saw it last night and I think she said it rocked. I on the other hand was going for one drink with some of the DK folk after work last night. Except one drink turned into one too many and I was finally on my way home over five hours later. It was a good time. I was pretty bombed but at least I can say that I wasn't so drunk that I got wrapped up in a curtain at a bar in Mohegan Sun (you know who you are haha).
